Eisemann magneto charger?
Still going thru some plunder from an estate (parts) I purchased and came across this interesting piece. Has a wood base, and on/off switch and two terminals for a battery connection. Has two coiled wire towers and an "Eisemann" brass tag. Is anyone here familiar with this item? Please educate me on it's use.

Flywheel magnet recharger. Great find! It is connected to a bank of car batteries for power.

How to use explained in 1923 Dyke's automobile encyclopedia. Use of 12v D.C. source gives stronger magnet. Short bursts only, a few seconds, otherwise the coils overheat or the battery(s) can be harmed.

Re: Eisemann magneto charger?
So how is it used without removing the magnets from the car?

The magnets are removed from the car first.

Gotcha. The first paragraph of the unit posted above says "to remagnetize Ford magnets without removing them from the car. That led me to believe there was maybe a way to do it with them in place.

Guess you could but would have to take off the cover and hold the magnetizer on each magnet.

I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Re: Eisemann magneto charger?
The bare necessity for Ford magnets is to hold at least two pounds, the traditional test being a cast iron Ford piston. If you try this charger and find that the magnets will hold three or more pounds, that's great. Use it. If it charges them only enough to hold a couple of pounds, I'd make a better one. Mine gets 4 to 4½ pounds.
The inevitable often happens.
