What Pertronics model fits in the Atwater-Kent LA? I called Pertronics and they had no Idea, but agreed one can be put in the LA. Any instructions on installation?

I wish I could tell you, but i know it has been done. Before Mark Friemiller had his big sale and sold out Model T Haven, he had an Atwater-Kent LA with a Pertronix listed for sale. I'm sure he bought it that way and didn't do the conversion, himself.

From this posting https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/download/f ... &mode=view
I believe the number shown is just the module but not for the proper plate combination
This a link to their 4cyl 6V neg ground ignitions https://pertronixbrands.com/pages/searc ... sort=title

I sold an Atwater-Kent dist on the classifieds 3-4 months ago that had a Pertronics conversion installed- Here is the URL to the ad:

Richard Kemp purchased it- contact Rich and see if he can get the model # off of the module.

Hi David,
I think I'm the new owner of the model H Atwater Kent pictured. Atwater Kent has some real small odd shaped point cams. I picked up a Pertronics
at a swap meet a while bach that was sold as a 4cyl. chevy. Turns out it is a odd ball Mazda unit, it's for a vevy small point cam. Take a pic & meassurements of your point cam lets see if we can make it work. It checked out ok as per Pertronics test procedure.
Craig.

Re: Pertronics in an Atwater-Kent LA
If I recall the late Fred Huston did an article about converting the LA. If I recall it was for the Tulsa Ok, Model T Club.
I have a copy somewhere, but someone from the club may be able to provide a link.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

In my defense, its early. Go to the Tulsa Model T club, Technical page and the article is there.
Has the info on the different modules.
Now I am going for coffee,

Thanks for the replies…… I snuck out of the office for a quick lunch, I’ll have to read the Tulsa article tonight. Craig, I’ll try to get measurements / pics this weekend. Tom, thanks for the contact info. If my quest to move the “T” 100 years into the future with it’s ignition system doesn’t pan out I’ll be in touch for the pieces I’ll need.
