My 13 year old son began showing it to me and I said " No, I do not want to watch that." He told me it is some guy that destroys vehicles for his u tube content. I am not supporting any of that!

As a young person (younger than he) this really makes me mad!!!!!!!
Why???!!!!
And by the way, every time we watch that terrible video he gets monney to buy more...
This is why i am so protective of our model ts that arent really "mine". My grandpa restored 3 model ts with his brother and we still have 2 of them and they mean the world to me! They are my connection to him!
Just be cautious to who you sell your car to! You may see your own lovingly restored car get destroyed for the name of the dollar!!
Sorry for the rant but this made me mad!

What a waste! I could have used some of those parts. Makes me wonder just what his deep seeded issue is? Mental illness played out on YouTube? And to top it off it seems most of the comments to the video where singing praises to this guy.

One of the most beautiful things about this free country is that you are going to encounter people who think and feel very differently than you do. If that's what the man likes to do he ain't hurting anyone, more power to him. It's his hard fought for, God given right. If you don't like it, you've got that same freedom to not watch. Don't let what others do bother you, "ev'ry thing'll be jus' fine".

I don't need to even see it to know that it is a perfect allegory for the state of our society.

Now, how exactly did this thread advance the state of our hobby?

It didn't.

Why would someone call attention to this video in the first place?

Hard to watch. BUT... you can see how well the T seems to handle major damage. Until the end. The plate was from Tennessee. The 26-27 looked in good condition. Did they actually destroy more than one? The guy is kind of a sicko though.

As soon as I fast forwarded toward the end of the vid I knew who it was, he is the lowest of the low. a couple years ago he distroyed a nice 1979 ford 4x4. I knew then he should have to walk everywhere he goes in shoes filled with broken glass.

Unfortunately, the Model T Ford hobby is not alone in this situation.
Over on the Talking Machine Forum, as another example, there’s links to people smashing antique phonographs on YouTube. Folks comment in disgust and the people who post the videos love it. In fact, the more people that protest these videos, the more encouraging it is for them to keep making more destructive videos.
I’m sure MANY other hobbies are seeing this same sad trend.
It is a sad thing to watch and to see how society is devolving.
People will continue to do crap like this as long as it generates notoriety and wealth for them.

The best thing anyone can do is to report these videos to the authorities that operate these sites, and don’t bring attention to or comment to the original poster about it in any way.

They went through 7 poor T's.....seven. My coworker had me watch the part where he was driving through the ditches and that was pretty impressive! I knew these cars could 'flex', but that looked almost glamorous! Henry knew what he was doing!

I don't understand the mindset of these people,it is like they got dropped as babies or something.
I struggled off and on for 16 years to build a T and this subpar humanoid takes pleasure in destroying them.and there are people that support it and like it?? why?
makes no sense.

Driving a Model T parallel into a ditch is extremely dangerous and was by far the stupidest thing in the video.

Really? Hollywood has been doing this for years. How many chargers were wrecked for the Dukes of Hazzard? What about all the other tv shows and movies? What about stock car and drag racing?
I’m sure your generations did stuff that pissed off your elders. Maybe you destroyed their abacus to play checkers. Or perhaps you had a kegger and bonfire with the covered wagon that your folks crossed the prairie in.
There is no need to insinuate someone was dropped on their head or is on drugs. This is how this generation enjoys themselves. Oh my god. What if they start ruining all the Coca Cola by putting peanuts in it? Or listen to rock-n-roll music and do the mashed potato?

How many Dodge Chargers were crashed? I don't know, but I do know that none of them were more than a decade old or so, and were routinely still on the road as private vehicles.
This is how this generation enjoys themselves.
What a slap in the face to all parents who have brought up respectful, intelligent children that have the drive and a vision of making themselves and their world a better place! If destroying or ruining things brings pure joy, then perhaps this is why so many of our sons are enamored with the idea of turning themselves into Eunuchs. So, when will this guy start smashing18th century stained glass windows or breaking the arms off of Greek statues?

Would that be cute, too?

If ever there was a doubt that Good Times create weak men, all traces of doubt should be gone by now, and you don't want to be around for what weak men will bring...though we're being given a pretty good glimpse of it.

Hear me out...

There's thousands(?) of people here who :
a) love and cherish old cars
b) think WhistlinDiesel is a f#@kwit

The thing is that after 2 days he's got 2.5 million views and that's a lot of people who consume car content and when you get into the comments... they're wincing just like we are.

Lots of them are already impressed about how well the old girl handled the off road driving though, its right there in the clickbait headline image... which presents us with a golden opportunity.

If you have some time and want to see some good come from the demise of that poor old car, go make some comments in the YouTube video. Link to your local T Ford Club, recruit some young people, take them out for ice cream.

The old car community won't get engagement like this posting pictures of old people in old clothes doing old car shows.

Like him or loathe him, this guy is -very good- at garnering an audience, usually by doing outrageous things with expensive cars.

Let's be honest, 14 000 000 T Fords have already suffered a far less glorious end.

This time we're presented with a golden opportunity to launch the T Ford into a crowd of people who never realised they too can own the toughest, most numerous, most fun... and most importantly the friendliest car culture there has ever been.

It's the car the century, let's explain it to them, without being the "look but don't touch" curmudgeons that old car people are known for.

I made it to 5:22 and had to turn it off......
sad, sickening, heart wrenching.
A perfect waste of a great little car.
Any one of us could have saved it. I have a friend who is a young man in his 30's that wishes for a T to make memories with sharing it with his little kids.....
I guess I can only ask,
"Can I have the wheels?""

Maybe we have morons as leaders for the same reasons this video and thread has had so many hits. It seems to be a race to the bottom. It is OUR CHOICE. What did you expect? End of rant.

Yikes. I'm not going looking for that. A T? And a 1206 too? I'm more for the building up or making do.
I wonder if it's the same bonehead that started his tube career by putting a cement block on the throttle of an RX-7 years ago?
The wife wants me to scrap my '53 motor grader due to engine issues. Ummm, nope. Oddball IH UD-16 engine.
The tearing down attitude seems to be quite popular...

Thanks Duey, but the rift between you and your wife is beyond the scope of this forum. :D

this guy needs to be in captive rehabilitation, apparently he is only happy destroying stuff. I know, in this country you are allowed to express yourself, but if I had been around when he was filming, it is a good thing I don't own a gun! Wanton destruction of property, even if it is his own.

What is his motivation to destroy everything? Money. Lots of money. He has made over 5 million dollars with his destruction videos.

But not just one T, apparently 7 nice, restored Ts were destroyed--and this is how he became a millionaire???
Surely there is restitution in the next life. . . . .

FWIW: Had I known what was to take place I would not have even begun to watch it. I found it on another website and the only lead-in the poster gave was words to the effect that "This guy's an idiot"

I won’t watch it again and don’t suggest anyone else watch it either but what I noticed was the early cowl lights on a 26-27 Tudor, a running board luggage rack and wire rims. In the video they have a sign that said they used 26 ford model T’s to make the video. I have heard they used 7 also. The video to me looks like the same car with its unique features and used cut and pasted video for its demise. I think only one T was wasted. The guys a liar and probably said that to up peoples blood pressure. But I could be in denial..
Do not watch it again to confirm.
