It Happened One Night

Post by NY John T » Wed Dec 27, 2023 12:59 pm

Hi All. Last night I happened upon the movie It Happened One Night, on Turner Classics. With Clark Gable and Claudia Colbert. 1934. They hitchike and get picked up by a 1926-27 Touring. What fun to see the car (same as mine) driving all around!

Clark Gable didn't say "frankly my dear, I don't give a... "..... 😬 Oops!... The car got stolen, but Clark Gable came to the rescue and got the car back to continue his trip to get his reward money. He did drive it pretty well and the car sounded great!.... The movie was filmed in a little over 3 weeks to complete because Claudette was scheduled to start another film with another studio I believe.... They don't make academy award winners like that anymore.

The exposed leg/Model T hitchhiking scene was parodied by Stan Laurel in "Way out West."

Click on this link - I have it cued to the scene:

What was the name of the Movie, that had an Old Prospector that drove his T Truck in the sand of the desert, and he had 'Tracks' that was a Canvas Belt that ran over the Rear Tire, and up to a Flat Belt Pully under the bad..

It was a 'Tracked Rig' for sand desert driving..

I've racked my Brain for Years trying to find this movie.. Only saw it once..
