1910 rear strap
Does anyone have a picture of the rear strap? I had a new top installed but I’m having trouble with the rear strap. Here is a picture of what I came up with but I don’t think it’s correct. The saddle has a larger slot on one side and two round holes which I have no idea what they are for.

Re: 1910 rear strap
I believe you basically have the strap laced through correctly, however, the 2 small side holes are for rivets that hold the strap in place and also force the strap to lay all the way down in the bottom of the saddle.

Re: 1910 rear strap
The original strap was made up of 3 pieces of leather, rivited together . The two shorter pieces were riveted to the two holes in the bracket.

Re: 1910 rear strap
The original saddle strap was made in two pieces that are riveted together. The buckle is a #56 buckle, not the #121 buckle that you show. I have attached a diagram that shows how the straps are rivited to the saddle. If you have any questions, just PM me. I hope this helps, Russ Furstnow

Re: 1910 rear strap
It appears that I have the correct straps. What size are the rivets? Brass or steel.

Re: 1910 rear strap
Excellent post! This is the kind of information that should be in the Vintage Ford, as opposed to the nonsense that is usually in there!

Re: 1910 rear strap
Would this same arrangement be on my 1911 Torpedo? I think I bought the straps from one of the suppliers. I don't remember the separate pieces.
