what size are they? I made some patterns years back for a big brass car, still have the patterns, have a local foundry that likes my old junk to parts.

If Joe's source doesn't pan out, you could try Cattail Foundry, in PA. https://goodsstores.com/blogs/a-good-wo ... nnsylvania

Looks like you've got three suggestions with this one being in your state. Good Luck.

Tim, IMO the best for what you are needing is Windy Hill Foundry ( https://windyhillfoundry.com/ ). You will need to draw it up and then 3D print what you need. Reach out to Clark and see if he can't make what you need. Text me if you have any questions or wanna talk about this.

I put juice brakes on my 1909 Stoddard Dayton. I went to the NAPA store and got a cast iron brake drum catalog. I found the diameter drum I needed. It had cooling fins on the outside and was 1" to deep.

I chucked the drum up and turned the drum down and ended up with the correct diameter for my external brake band. I cut the dept of the drum down to work with my brake bands. I drilled the necessary holes to bolt the drum to the spokes.

The drums were cheap a little bit of lathe time and I saved a lot of money over making patterns and casting the drums. Keep in mind you still have to machine the new cast drums. The drums I used were mid 60's Pontiac Tempo for about $24 each.

Just sayin,

Tim is looking for brake shoes. It did not take long for auto makers to develop fabricated steel brake shoes. Even 26-7 Ts had steel shoes, albeit with cast ends. It may be easier to fabricate what you want, especially with computer cutting available these days. Casting is not a common practice in workshops, unlike fabrication.

Allan from down under.
