I was eating lunch today, and got to thinking of Randall, and what a fine Christian man he was. His knowledge of Model T's was deep, especially the ignition system, and coils in particular. Just think, 30 years ago if you owned a 1913, the only coil points you could buy were KW'S. Randall took care of all of that! We met at Hershey about 30 years ago, and became life long friends. God took him from us too soon. Rest in peace Randall.

Those are some nice, and well deserved, recollections of RV. I spoke with him just a few times at Hershey and he acted like we knew each other forever.

RV built 5 new original coils for my 1910 Tourabout when no one else could. He is irreplaceable and is missed every day.

Here's a pic from Hershey of R.V. and his brother Jon. The .jpg file is dated 2022, but the photo may be earlier.

RV was one of a kind, a great guy who certainly lived his faith. I sure miss him.

Did someone take over his business? Or is it gone forever?

As far as I know his brother Jon still does his excellent woodwork on floor boards, firewalls and such. You might try calling him to see if he has picked up any of R.V's former work.

As far as his business goes, Langs bought the top and door straps, all the specialty nuts and bolts. Someone bought all the coils and parts, but hasn’t offered any coil repair as of this time. Jon is still doing the woodwork.
