Luray VA Swap Meet
With a record number of vendors, The 2025 Luray swap meet was one of the best ever. The forecast of heavy steady rain for Friday, only turned out to be on and off showers in the morning, with the sun out for the afternoon. Friday evening's vendor dinner was wonderful as always. Saturday brought sunshine and still a flow of shoppers looking for parts. All good things come to an end and by 1:30 in the afternoon most vendors were packed up and headed home. Be sure to put this swap meet on your bucket list for next year, you won't want to miss it !

Darryl: Looks like a good meet. Hate I missed it.
We’re all those cars for sale or just there?
Hope to see everyone at Hershey, good Lord willing and the Creek don’t rise. Dan

Re: Luray VA Swap Meet
Hi Dan, let me first say that you were sincerely missed. You & Gator both!!
It appears 3 of the 4 vehicles pictured above were John's, Bill's, and Dave's which are participating on the tour today. I am unsure whose Model-A that was but I think it was for sale. There were several Ts there for sale. I believe Dennis sold his Coupe and it is going to PA. There were several others including a nice early 20's Centerdoor for sale. There was an entry level, running & driving 1915-ish red Touring there for sale that the owner wanted $6k-ish for. There were a few others scattered around the field. I do not recall seeing a single Orphan car there for sale.

Brent, the 1930 Model A green pickup is mine. We were next to each other at the swap meet. It's still available. Runs and drives great. Has a fresh engine with my 330 lift cam and high compression head. Its still available. This was the best year ever. Great job Rackeeters. Great crowds and renewed friendships.

Re: Luray VA Swap Meet
I always enjoy going to Luray. A great location, a concentration of quality vendors without having to wade through beef jerky, T-shirt and other non-related stuff. I enjoyed talking with Chris and Brent Mize. It was fun to discuss generator restoration and cutout refurbishing with them. Very few people understand the complexities of restoring these, so it was fun to compare notes.

Re: Luray VA Swap Meet
Just completed the tour. What an outstanding event it was. Lots of great roads, great breaks and lunch stops and places to visit. No big rain until after we got back to the hotel. Great job Dennis (Martha) and Brian (Kelley) and the rest of the organizers. Always a fun tour. And thanks to the VFW for the sponsorship!

Re: Luray VA Swap Meet
Thank you all for the kindness and hospitality. The Luray swap meet was a great time. It’s always nice to meet up and talk with people who enjoy the cars and history as much as I do. Thank you to Steve Blanchard for the mention and for taking time to talk about the inner workings of the generator systems. It was a great time and I look forward to seeing many of you again at Hershey this fall and again in Luray 2026. Take care all and thank you all for doing what we can to keep history on the road.
