What are these holes in my firewall for?
I’m in the process of getting my re-wooded 25 (August 1924) Touring ready for paint and was able to get the firewall done today. I’ve never noticed these holes below the choke bell crank or the one with a shoulder directly below the coil box mounting holes. I don’t remember my January 1924 Roadster having them. What would they have been used for? They look like they came from the factory. I’ve searched the forum and don’t see any reference to them.

The firewall is made for many different vehicles so not all holes are applicable, those holes are not used on a touring.

In late 24 firewall was modified with that lower oval hole, then in 25 the choke bell crank was deleted and the new “26” style combo choke and carb adj u-joint swivel on the NH carb used that oval hole. These 25s fitted with that carb setup just prior to the Improved Car for 26 model year.
