This is a Ford 17-Z-803 Tester.
It is the predecessor to the 18-Z-245 Coil Tester.

I don't know how a Model T owner can be without one. I use mine frequently for myself and others.

The HCCT works well, but it is not the only girl in town. I have found the ECCT to be very accurate, and probably lower in cost.

The ECCT is about half the usual cost of the HCCT, and so is the Strobo Spark.
The inevitable often happens.

Along with my Allen HCCT, I have several different ECCTs, both 6V and 110V AC...
I prefer the HCCT, but run a distributor, so it rarely gets used.

Here's a couple ECCTs, one DC and one is AC.
Sorry bout the glare, sunshine ! 8-)
There's a homemade one that holds 4 coils, but the picture didn't come out.

Dave, with all due respect I believe the ECCT is the Electronic Cranked Coil Tester as designed and sold by Mike Kosser www.modeltecct.com

Pardon my ignorance, what should I call a non hand cranked tester.
No offense to Mike was intended. :)

It's probably a buzz box coil tester which most likely only tests the primary and secondary coils to tell you if they are good
