Model T Spanners - Walden Worcester

Post by A Whiteman » Fri Apr 03, 2020 11:17 pm

During lock down my T buddy Chris is making a cabinet to set out his Walden Worcester spanner collection.
He would like to have a nice logo sign to fix to the front of the cabinet and has asked if I can find something.
I have found a later logo (see below) but he would really like an earlier logo (before the merger with Stevens).

Can anyone help with a high quality scan or a photo off a catalogue, or a decal from a tool case or other advertising material you may have. Colour preferred, but black and white would be great.

Thanks, Adrian

(yes it is T related as WW made the tools for fixing them ;-) )

G'day Adrian,
I have a link to a tool site that can sometimes be helpfull.
I had quick search on the link posted and couldn't find a logo.
I may have missed something though.
It could be worth your while having a look.!!

Best of Luck, John Page, Australia.

Adrian,
I found a picture on that site showing a Walden socket set. Pictured below.

Using that image I drafted up as near as I could a copy of the Walden Logo. Also Pictured below.

Best regards, John Page, Australia.

John, There is no letter H in Worcester. I have a friend who always corrects me when I pronounce Worcester with a H. :)

With the basic of tools on my Mac this is what I have come up with. Hopefully this one is correct. Best regards, John.

I give up. STILL NOT RIGHT.!!!!
I did a preview both times and still didn't pick up the spelling mistakes.
If Adrian wants me to persist I will have another crack at it tomorrow.

Best regards, John.

JOHN!!

it's PERFECT!
I just read the thread through top to bottom and was laughing hysterically by the time I got to the bottom!

BTW, it should be an "o", not an "a".

I guess I'm easily amused. All the best.

I think a more correct pronunciation is 'wooster', woo sounding as it does in wool, with no particular emphasis on either syllable. Then again, if you guys pronounce solder as sodder, anything goes.
