Difference in brush springs?

How do you tell if a brush holder spring is for a generator or a starter? Thanks Dan

Just to add, there are two different springs used in the generator. Two for the large brushes and one for the small. So that makes 3 different springs between the two units.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:
