1919-25 Touring Price

Post by FieldMarshalRed » Wed Oct 21, 2020 4:37 pm

Hello again, it's me Randy. I am 14 years old and in the future, I want to buy a Ford Model T. The ideal Model T I want is a 1919-1925 touring car because not only does it have the electric starter, but it has more room than the coupe and the runabout. How much does the average 1919-25 tourer cost? What are the steps to buying a Model T? Thank you for your time.

Most folks that have a good running T of that description would like to get $14,000 to $18,000 out of it. Sadly it's hard to find someone who wants to pay more than $10,000 to $12,000. There are less that good runners or good lookers out there for $4,000. If you can find someone who doesn't want to advertise or worry about showing or shipping they might take less. How much work are you willing to do on one?
Other will have more info or opinions.

When did I do that?

There are several very active local clubs around Southern Califunny. Contact a couple clubs (contact info is found through the forum's home page), and find some members near you. People in these clubs like to share the hobby, and finding a few that you can get a ride with, and probably even an early lesson in driving a model T. That way you can get a feel for the fit of a T touring car.
Prices vary a lot! And may go down a bit in the next few years. The "black era" touring cars are among the cheapest model Ts, and definitely one of the best values in pre-1930 automobiles. Running but needing work cars come around for around $5000, and go up to about $9000 for fairly nice cars. Only ones among the best of the best should be near $10,000 or above.
