Trunk Latch
23T..My trunk latch doesn't have a key, and doesn't have the thing that the key moves. Do I need a whole new assembly, and do I have to drill out rivets to install it? Thanks..Tommy

Re: Trunk Latch
I can only assume that, if you don’t have a key and only have an empty latch housing and want an operational latch to keep the trunk closed, you will need a replacement latch with key and will need to remove the rivets in order to remove the remnants of the old latch housing in order to replace it with a complete latch, or try and repair the old latch. If you can find parts to replace the missing latch parts in the existing housing, it would be advisable to install the replacement parts in the original housing, but replacement parts would be next to impossible to find, unless you or a locksmith can make them. Either way, you will need to drill out the rivets to remove the old parts for replacement or repair. You can install the new one by tapping the four holes and securing with slotted machine screws. PS. Have you thoroughly searched the nooks and crannies of the trunk. It is possible that the parts could have popped out and may still be in the trunk.

Re: Trunk Latch
This might help if you can’t find the parts or the key.
Lang’s sells the trunk latch #9485L and also the key that goes with it.
Ck out their website.
