The Model T Ford Club of Southern California is hosting a full day of “fun in the sun” this coming Saturday, August 28th, at the beach cottage of one of our members, on Balboa Island. This gathering is a Model T focused potluck/ covered dish event with hobbyist, some with their families, coming from near and far.
There will be a potluck supper, sailing, sand castles, stand-up paddle boarding, cruiser bikes for the boardwalk, nearby shopping, walking and exploring Newport Bay, and endless chatter regarding Model Ts.
The party starts mid morning and ends around 5 PM. Adult only cocktails to follow. Only a few locals will be bringing their Ts because ‘hunt and find’ street parking may be a block or two away. Therefore, almost all are coming in modern cars.
If you are a Model T-er who would like to join in you will be most welcome. Just let us know how many in your clan will be attending and what you plan on bringing for the potluck supper so that we may fill in with other dishes.

I had a good time. I especially enjoyed the few original dwellings that remain on the island. It appears to have been taken over by people with lot's of money. I know I could never afford to own a place on that island!
