1910 Side lamp brackets position on firewall

Post by John Haynes » Mon Sep 06, 2021 4:07 pm

I am preparing to replace the firewall on my 19100. The car has an older restoration and the side lamp brackets used were not the correct ones. I now have the correct ones but the holes in the firewall do not match the correct brackets. Does anyone have the correct measurement of the placement of the side lamp brackets for a 1910? I have attached a photo of the incorrect bracket on the firewall. Thank you!

I hope someone will have the dimensions you need. I looked at some photos and found that the placement seemed to be where the top of the square lamp body was near even with the top of the dash. You may wish to look at other old photos. When I tried to locate my '14 lamps it seemed there were differences in the height of 2" or more. Not all were mounted the same.
Best of luck in your search.

OK John; here ya go, from the Ford drawing: Both holes are 5/16" diameter. The center of the upper hole is located 14-1/4" from the centerline of the dash, and 5-3/8" down from the top edge (no molding). The center of the lower hole is 2-1/2" below the center of the upper hole, and 17/32" outboard of it. Hope this helps.

That's great R.V.!

So added those key dimensions to photo of an original 1910 to show relationship of the bracket on the dash.

Revised with 14 1/4" from center line.

Nice photo Dan, but I think your 14-1/2" should be 14-1/4".
