how to remove glass off stewart magnetic type 3178

I just picked up a Stewart Magnetic Type 3. I’m trying to get the glass off, to clean behind it. How do I remove it.

The surrounding bezel is a slip interference fit. I tap around the edge with a screwdriver and drive it off.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:

George, leave it face down and use a good penetrant around the rim to help. Gentle tapping will also helps to free it up. If you crack the glass the tapping was not gentle enough. ;)

A soak in 10% pickling vinegar would help remove rust. I don't know what it would do to the dial face and odometer numerals.
