Hello

My name is Joel Culliford and I am part of an charitable organization that is trying to rebuild a Model T with a high school to what one might look like during WWI. The high school has started some work but to be honest, I do not know a lot about what parts are needed and what to do next. The person I relied on has more or less vanished.

I am wondering if there is anyone on this forum in or around the Niagara Region Canada that could come look at what we have so far and help us with next steps and parts.

The USA didn't get into the war until May, 1917, so an American Ford during the US participation would have been a 1917 or 1918 model. Canada being in from the onset, a 1915, 1916, 1917, or 1918 Canadian Ford would be correct. Do you know what you have? If not, post the engine serial number (above the water inlet on the side of the engine) and a bunch of photos, and we can help you sort it out. Others will chime in but here is a link to contact the main Ontario Chapter of the Model T Ford Club International <https://ontariomodelt.org/> the Model T Ford Club of America also has Canadian Chapters but they are all in Western Canada. I would contact the chapter and see if they know someone nearby who can help you out. Some of our US members like Mark would be a great resource if he can get across the border.

There is lots of information out there on Model T's, including info on WWI Ambulances and the like. You've come to the right place to find help. Like Steve said, post the serial number and some pictures and we can tell you more about what you're facing.

We have a '23 Ford Model T I believe, but are looking to make it look like a '17 or '18 Canadian Model T. I was told that there is not much difference.

I have attached the pictures I have. Sorry I don't have a lot of close up ones.

You could say there are not major differences in body style between 17-18 and 1923. At the same time, a lot of parts are different. A 1923 block is a different style than 17-18, as is the hogshead (transmission cover), and firewall (steel vs wood). Several smaller parts are different too. Handy for sorting out the years and USA vs Canadian Fords is the MTFCI book of judging and restoration guidelines.
