Flywheel dowel pins

Post by Don ellis » Sun Feb 06, 2022 5:00 pm

Is there a certain direction they press out like the triple gear pins?

They only come out one way, tap them out with a drift and hammer, not that tight, from the transmission side.

And they are pressed in from the backside. The fitted area is about .001 larger than the post. Sometimes when they have been removed some material can also be removed and you may need a larger base for a tight fit.

I'm not sure on following you David, the dowels would tap in on the magnet side, to me that would be the front of the fly wheel as it faces the front of the engine.
