Existing engine info wanted?

Post by Loftbed » Mon Jan 31, 2022 6:27 pm

I bought this Model T Speedster on Hemmings. It was offered by the Son of the previous owner and he didn't know much about it. The car was originally built by Pete Eastwood in Southern Cal, Pete sold it (minus the engine) to Don Small of Arizona (prior to his passing). Don had the engine built by Larry Blair (AKA Loco Larry) of Santa Fe Springs and had it b///////uilt close to the original engines specs. What I know about it so far is: NOS Sherman head, New Zealand counter balanced crank Model A rods, Custom Ross pistons, Bosch front plate, VW Distributor with special drive, Carter BB1 model 699s carb; Custom Exhaust & Intake, & 12v conversion.
If anyone has further info on this engine, I'd like to know as I am trying to document it.

Larry Blair is still around. He closed his shop in Santa fe springs & opened a smaller shop in Whittier.
Spotted him on the holiday excursion in a T. Sent an email.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

When you achieve geriatric status everything reminds you of something else, often something from long ago.

Frank, thanks for the contact info.
I was able to talk to Larry yesterday, and he recalled the engine and how it was built. So I am now able to add more info to the engines 'build sheet". :D :D

Again thank you
