Rear spring install

Post by John L » Sun Jul 10, 2022 7:28 pm

Is there a certain tightening sequence to tighten up the rear spring assembly? My 23 T coupe always tighten up more to the left side then the right. Which make the car lean to the left.

John have you taken the rear spring off recently? If not you may do that to check a few things.
Check for broken leafs, especially the very top short spring
Check the spring pad, is it worn & intact
Check the head of the spring center bolt to be sure it’s centered in the rear frame wing, that it is still proud in the square hole or if the head of the bolt is worn thin.

Like John says,

1. Check to make certain ,bolt is correctly placed.
2. Make sure the shackles are also in the right place and not off a little to one side or the other.

Equally tighten the U bolts. I have found that some cars just aren't perfect.
