I have always question the term of 'speedster' when it is applied to a repurposed Model T.

A speedster is a gentleman's sports car such as a Bearcat.

A speedster is not a repurposed Ford when it is bodied as an Indy/Le Mans racer.

There are so many versions of speedsters to like. 50 years ago I was struck by the beauty and exciting look of the Mercer Raceabouts. When I realized they sold for as much as $30,000  I realized I would never have one. A new Corvette was $3,000 at the time. A T speedster on the cover of Hemming's put the idea in my head to build one that resembled the Mercer.

We have driven this one several thousand miles and enjoyed it a lot. A climb up Pike's Peak was the best! I doubt if we would dare drive a real Mercer that much. Fortunately I did get a ride in a 1913 Mercer and what a thrill.
It is funny how much we can enjoy cars.
Rich
When did I do that?
