This first car off the assembly line?
Ok so back in 2010 I took all the 35mm slides and 8mm moving pictures my grandparents had and re-shot them in my dining room with a digital camera. The best way I could come up with was to put a piece of white countertop across the room and zoom in with the video camera, playing it directly into a laptop. This worked pretty good and I put them all on dvd's so they could enjoy their photos on the tv. They were 84 years old at that time.
He was at my house one day and I asked him to narrate one of the films. It is here --> https://youtu.be/US5dyzk-jg0
If I heard him right, he said that the car he drove throughout my childhood was "the first car to come off the assembly line in 1913". I did not know that until about a week ago when I stitched the audio and video together for you all to enjoy. I literally cut my teeth on that steering wheel as a baby.

Thank goodness some of that old film survived and got copied. Thanks for sharing it.
It certainly was the 60s.

Wow! 62 year old video of 1750 mile antique auto vacation. I especially enjoyed the 25 cent screen door spring repair to the Maxwell oil pump

Wow, that was the best movie I've seen in ages.
Thank you Tim for posting this and what an awesome gift you leave for your family by recording this. Well done, sir. I watched it straight through, it's captivating! Your grandpa describes the whole thing in the most nonchalant manner. 1750 miles in bone stock Ts, a Maxwell that was never driven before the trip? Now that's a sense of adventure! And, you have a picture of you in the car. What a great story.
Thanks for sharing this. It inspires to me get the old timers in my family to narrate old home movies before sound was available.

I just found what I believe is the original head off that car. I have it!
