I'm posting this here, instead of in the 'parts for sale', because I'm not ready to offer it for sale, yet. I'd like to see if there is an interest, knowing the price and current availability of SCAT cranks, if I offered a Sure Mike crank for sale. I have not, but will have it magnifluxed for cracks and measured for wear. I know a machine shop who can turn it, if necessary. I know Sure Mike cranks have a bad reputation for cracking and breaking, and I know there were two different versions made; one being stronger than the other. I do not know which version this is. I just know its still in one piece ! I have a Sure Mike in my heavy 26 Fordor sedan. It has survived. It is my thought that the reason behind Sure Mike crank failures is TOO hard a punishment. Back in time, I think the Sure Mike was made more as a replacement for an OEM crank in cars driven normally, but unfortunately, many got put in T's that were raced and driven hard, or used without proper rear end gearing which put unusual strain on the crankshaft. Other 'speed equipment' manufacturers made much 'beefier' crankshafts that were suited for racing and hill climbs. I don't want to list this crank for sale in the parts for sale, unless there is sufficient interest. if there isn't interest, I'll list it on EBAY. If it shows cracks when magnifluxed, it'll go into the scrap pile. I will not sell something that I know to be bad.

Eight hours, plus after original post; 220 post viewers; ZERO comments. Doesn't look like there's any interest, here, so I guess EBAY here we go, if the magniflux checks out OK.

I hope the manga flux comes back good and you find a buyer, if it fails I'd think someone would rather have it as a wall hanger than to see it lost forever,

I have had several and most ended up wall hangers from cracks, years ago I checked the metallurgy of them and they where hard like the Dodge brothers where, lots of chromiun in them so they did not flex as the later T cranks did with the EE formula. I have installed the good ones for customers and they sounded and ran well. would I put one in my own driver??

I bought a hill climb motor with a sure break crank. It was std/std large radius's. Knowing that everyone I ever heard of that was run broke, I ran it anyway. (All those others must have been well ground, but mine was like NOS. #3 version) Btw, I believe there were 3 versions, The last & best having the biggest counterweights. I dont think I put more than 100 miles on it before it broke.
What still angers me is that I knew it would break & I could have easily sold it for $600 pre broke.
