It’s A Wonderful Life

Post by TrentB » Sat Dec 24, 2022 7:50 pm

If you are watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” today or tomorrow, take note of the credits at the beginning of the film. The screenplay is based on a story by Phillip Van Doren Stern, who was also the author of “Tin Lizzie: The Story of the Fabulous Model T Ford”.

Respectfully submitted,

Trent Boggess

That Dodge Brothers Touring was fully repaired after the movie when the studio decided to sell it off.
From what I've been told, that car recently went up for auction and brought a hefty amount. The "It's a Wonderful Life" museum in upstate New York tried to acquire it, but the museum didn't have the funds.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone here on the Model T Ford Club of America Forum, from Mike

The " Bedford Falls " train station scenes were filmed in Pasadena Ca. at the Lamanda Park station.
This is just a few blocks from my home. The station is no longer there.

Ernie's Taxi is typically on display every Christmas season at the AACA Museum in Hershey, PA.

One of my favorite scenes in the film is one that is never referred to, but is just a part of the set. In the Savings & Loan boardroom scene, where George rallies the board to resist Mr. Potter's offer to buy the Savings & Loan, there is in the background a photograph of George's father. The inscription below the photo that reads, "All you can take with you is that which you’ve given away." I love that notion. Look for it next time you watch.
