What year(s) was the Ford script embossed E oil can w/3 1/2 inch spout offered? Vintage Ford Volume 45, Number 1 has the embossed E oil can shown.

Seems like I read that those were made special for the 1984 Cross Country Tour participants.

Adam, Not all Ford oil cans with the embossed E are reproductions.
There were a few articles in the Vintage Ford on this subject. The first article was in the Jan/Feb issue of 2010, Vol. 45, #1. That is the article that Jack is referring to. Can #3 is the Eagle can with the E.
Then, in the July /Aug issue of 2015, Vol. 50, #4," The Oil Can Czar", Roy Hess, gave his Final Report.
Can #8 is the original Eagle can with the E.He also tells about the shiny new reproductions that Cliff Jenkins had.
In my own collection of Ford oil cans, I have two old originals about half of the copper worn off.

Yes, You are correct. I was responding to the post above mine about the repro cans. I also have both an original Ford E, and repro Ford E (Eagle) can in my collection. The repro can has a much longer spout.
