Re: Own a RICH EAGLE Model T Painting
I have thought this illustration from the sheet music was particularly nice. Joy and I have driven by lakes you can see through the trees like that many times. The shade and breeze off the water are a pleasant relief on a warm day.
I think many of us hope to share the fun of the Model T with youngsters. We wonder where these cars will be going in years to come. It is commendable that folks are encouraging our youth and I'm pleased I can add a little to their efforts.
Thanks
Rich Eagle.
This photo was posted, and the car and couple seemed just right for the painting. I did make it a touring car rather than the Tourabout.
Several photos were found for details of the trees, lake and portions of the Model T. Trying to put color that is believable is always a challenge. I always hope to keep the charm that the black & white photos have.I think many of us hope to share the fun of the Model T with youngsters. We wonder where these cars will be going in years to come. Re: Own a RICH EAGLE Model T Painting
Many thanks Rich. I was curious about the lamps and the long generator feed line. Lamps are Indiana Lamp Co. I believe, which could have been OEM for mid 1909, although being a Tourabout, that would date the car as a 1910. The photo appears to show black tires, vs white or gray, presumeably dating the photo to post 1915.

Thanks for the information, Scott. It's nice to know more about the car. I didn't realize Indiana Lamps were used. I knew of Brown and E&J. It's good that the detail showed in the painting. I couldn't tell what color the tires may have been from the photo. There are lots of shades there. Of course, white is always fun to paint.

I took the liberty of taking the color out to see the look compared to an old black and white photo. I am amazed at your level of expertise in representing fact. I can see the 1pc. axle and can tell the steering wheel is the small 09-10 unit. And the people are right out of the old photo. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.

Beautiful painting. The Man looks much older in the painting than in the photo. The woman looks young in both.

Thanks for the kind words.
Tom, your wonderful photos inspire a lot of this.
Jim, my ability to paint people is far behind my recognition of mechanicals but I try. The age difference wasn't intentional. I am happy if they look human.
Here it is with a bit of sepia tone.

Re: Own a RICH EAGLE Model T Painting
I have always enjoyed Rich Eagles art. Most tell a story or leave it up to the viewer to make up a story that fits the painting. The couple in the early Model T in the woods by the lake have a story to tell. The individual who wins the raffle will be the one to tell the story. I will be buying tickets and if I should win, I will tell what happened on that day with the T in the woods by the lake.
