Danielson Spindle Jig.

The ad that Mark Chaffin has in the Classifieds for the Spindle Arms made me think of this:

Has anyone seen one of these out in the wild, or might have one that they would be willing to share some photos of? With a price of $45.00 when new, I am sure that not many of these were bought.
"Remember son, there are two ways to do this: The right way, and your way” Thanks Dad, I love you too.

LOOKING FOR A LUFKIN No. 9A Height Gage Attachment.

Yes, $45.00. I bet you could buy a case of brand new spindle arms for $45 back then. That doesn't straighten the arm. It's just a gauge. It doesn't even check for bends to the spindle arm that would affect toe-in. It only checks for parallelism and skewed centerlines between the kingpin and the tie rod end. Too easy to check the spindle arm alignment by other, simple methods without that device. Cool though!

My IXL connecting rod aligner from the 1920’s has the same capability.

Good point. Likely even more easily done on a surface plate (-or even a Mill table) using two sets of ground 1-2-3 Blocks, a couple pieces of precision ground bar, and a Mic. (-or Calipers).
