1967 HCCA Texas tour
Here’s a photo of a 1967 Texas tour of the HCCA club. Seems there are a few T’s but not many. This was here in Waco, Texas and there was T club in town but don’t know which one. I was 18 at the time. Marion Finley was a prominent Antique car enthusiast and probably was there but which car he was driving I don’t know. This was about the time the MTFCA was being formed.
As you can see there were a lot of cars that were in the tour.

Looks like a really good turnout of automobiles. Not a lot of pre-1916s as is the focus of the HCCA. The HCCA does allow their "Regional Groups" to have later focus for the betterment of their local membership. So local events often had many later cars!
I see a 1933/'34 Pierce Arrow as well as a 1936ish Cord in that group. Also an early 1930s Packard I think
The touring car that looks similar to a model T Ford in the lower viewer's left corner is an about 1921 small model Overland. I see a few brass era model Ts and I think a brass era Buick near the middle of the photo.1967 was the year I began joining several of the major national clubs! So I remember some sizable meets around that time.

Thinking back to that time there was another prominent antique car enthusiast by the name of Carl Benner. He and Mr Finley were good friends and both had some neat cars. Mr Finley had a 13 Rambler and Benner had a Model K Ford. When I saw the photo I was thinking I could see the Model K or the Rambler but it’s not clear enough to look closely. But what was interesting was the lack of T’s or pre 20’s cars. There is a few but the majority look to be the higher end old cars for their time period.
Mr Finley and Mr Benner liked the less common bigger cars. He did finally buy a partially burned 1913 T Touring that was in an old house that was on the edge of town. He did restore it and I remember him telling me it wasn’t to hard to find the parts and etc because Model T’s and parts were plentiful! I guess that’s why Benner only had the Model K because of its size.
