Question in hanging the front seat back 26 touring

In the directions it says to align the top of the seat back frame springs to the top wood rail (i'm using the plastic stuff not wood). If I do that from the middle of the spring then both right and left corners of the spring are a lot higher than the wood and it's not touching the anti rattle cardboard. If I hang it like the picture then the spring is touching the back of the sheet metal (anti rattle cardboard). Does my picture look correct? Or should the corners of the setback spring stick up or both sides?

Generally the backrest spring will contour to the curve of the seat back when you stretch and tack the upholstery cover. Be sure to first fit the padded hip panels to the left and right.

Used three straps, one in about center and two outboard. The backrest spring corners will be up some, but judge the distance that seems good for you.

Thanks Dan. Your car looks great! Now that I think about it, I also have to be careful that I don't go too high and leave a gap where the seat cushion goes.

Robert, true, you want the proper gap. Have always done the seat cushion first and test fit some with the loose backrest cover.

In my install the spring may have been a tad high on the corners, the original photo shows what you should try for.

This is the current look, after a lot of seating! Others do much better at the corner to get a smooth fit, but the big wrinkle was ok for my work
