Last trucks with mechanical brakes?
This is not a T question but I figured that someone would know the answer. In addition to Model T s I also have a team of mules to get around town with and today I bought a nice old heavy freight wagon. I normally wouldn't buy one that had been changed to automobile wheels but this one had been changed over pretty early. It has two straight front axles from some vehicle with rod type mechanical brakes. They are six lug and pretty large drums for the time which makes me think truck. I can post some photos tomorrow if anyone has interest. If memory serves me, I think ford cars ran mechanical brakes until 39 but I don't recall anything with 6 lugs. Weren't they the last big company to change. I do think Crosley might have changed over in the early 50s but they definitely are not crosley. Sorry again for this not being a T question.
