Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
OK, I will admit I put my registration and insurance documents in a paper envelope, wrap it around the steering column, and secure it with a piece of string. I have seen the document holders the vendors sell, what do others use?

I’ve been thinking about using a motorcycle registration holder like this. You could attach it anywhere.

Re: Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
I made this out of top material using an original as a pattern. Not the best material but it does the job.
When did I do that?

I have them plastic-laminated and put them under the rear floor mat.

I keep my paperwork for my Touring in a vintage metal Ex-Lax tin and use a couple of small magnets to stick it on the front seat riser on the driver’s side just below the seat spring.
Figured no one would want anything to do with it!

Got this several years ago in a goody bag at a car show. Water-proof and hard to miss when and if needed. Very good for the open car, boaters use them for the same reason. Jim

Out of site, plastic baggy between the cushion and tank cover.

Steering column mount, vinyl plastic. Moisture proof. Easily read by law enforcement.

Just saw this thread. That's by far the least of your worries! If you come across a police man that would actually spend the time checking it out.
I'd like to his boss about more serious things he should be spending time worrying about!

Re: Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
I get pulled over all the time but they just want to know about the car and have only asked for license and registration once! I keep them in a plastic sandwich bag in the battery box on the running board.

Under the back seat. Who cares? At 30mph no one is ever going to stop you for anything other than getting a good look. At least here in North Carolina no one gives a flip about cars as old as Model T.

Re: Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
In Minnesota, only vehicles that are taxed based on gross weight are required to have a "cab card" (proof of registration and gross weight). Therefore, for a passenger vehicle, a peace officer will only ask for proof of insurance but not for proof of registration (and, frankly, the license plate displayed on the car is proof of registration).
Unless your state requires it, I don't see the point of publicly displaying the registration and/or insurance card, for example, on the steering column or visor. Just as long as the required documents are stored somewhere in the car should suffice. I also carry copies of the insurance cards in my wallet.

Re: Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
I have all my information in a plastic zip lock bag. Then I place it under the middle of the floor mat, front or back seat area. Stays nice and flat that way. In the TT truck it, is under the seat in the side areas.

Re: Show Us Your Holder For Registration and Insurance
When I rebuilt the Speedster body I built-in a small slot in the gas tank space behind the passenger seat. I put the registration, insurance card, and inspection sticker (NYS) in a zip-lock bag in the slot. Right next to my gas gauge (
). Haven't been pulled over yet, but if I am, I'm ready!
