Geology is fascinating. Tens of millions of years ago, when this area was an active volcanic zone, the surface of this area used to be even with the top of this sandstone formation. I wonder if this formation is still standing. If so, it would be interesting to see what it looks like now after 100 years of erosion or, better yet, recreating this photo in front of the formation as it looks today with a 1920 Model T touring car in the exact same location.
