1926-27 rear light / licence bracket - Canadian?

Post by Andrew Brand » Wed Jun 14, 2023 9:47 pm

Hi all

I'd like to positively identify this tail light / license plate assembly. Its in Australia, so if it came here in 1926-27 its likely a Canadian part. The drop arm looks like the standard US part for a 1926-27 roadster-pickup. The license plate holder and light body look like standard Canadian 1926-27 parts. Its a factory assembly - the rivets have not been messed with. Is this particular combination for a 1926-27 Canadian pickup? TT maybe?

Thanks Bob and Les.

Yes - seems similar to the TT assembly but with a different license plate holder.

Les - am I correct in assuming Canadian roadster pickup?

Does anybody have a photo of one on a car?

Andrew

Yeah, the mounting bracket is 1925-27. The license plate part looks like a very good rivet job.

Here are some comparison photos showing the (apparently) Canadian Roadster Pickup assembly next to a standard fender mounted 1926-27 Australian (Canadian) assembly. Same license plate holder / tail light, just a different mounting bracket. Also an Australian ad for a "Light Delivery Runabout". In Australia these had a wooden tray - we didn't get the steel trays like US production.
