Now where does this door trim part go?

Post by Mopar_man » Fri Jun 23, 2023 1:18 pm

I ordered the metal door trim parts for my 26 touring but can't figure out where this (arrow pointing) goes. The door latch itself seems to be too big and i would think it is to protect the door panel like other two part do. Anyone have a picture?

Not for your car. It’s a set that includes all the pieces

The Improved Car dropped the use of the long narrow curve around the door latch cutout, think that the panel was stitched on the border for the later 26-'27.

The '25 and earlier used that long thin curve piece, but fitting is difficult with the reproduction, usually have to shave the cardboard panel thinner to fit and crimp that escutcheon piece.

Thanks Dan. Mine is stitched on that curve. If I can get it to fit I may use it to protect the door panel The escutcheon ring around the door handle seems to be longer that the cutout in the door so i may have some carving to do to get it to fit.
