The language it was typed in was Korean and it seemed like it had something to do with a virus from what I can tell of the titles.

Did a little more digging and it’s seems more like some sort of scam.

Re: The OT forum is hacked with some foreign looking stuff
The site was spammed not hacked. There is really no need to post that there is spam on any of the boards in the general discussion. Just use the report button, you know this thing "!" and it will get removed. If it has been reported, you will get a message that tells you that it has been reported. No need to do anything else.
Happened over the weekend on AACA too. There were over 40 posts spread out over on a number of the different subsections. Got cleared up very quickly as did the ones here.

I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Part of it is the recipe for vanadium cream cheese. Please leave out the anchovies.

When did I do that?

Spam is not a surprise. Posting it in Hangul is a surprise. The percentage of Americans who can read Korean has to be vanishingly small.

The inevitable often happens.

Re: The OT forum is hacked with some foreign looking stuff
Since I am up very late most nights, I often end up being one of the ones reporting these spam attacks. Three nights in a row on the AACA I was reporting them. One post per new name poster I would "report" it, then comment to the moderators that there were numerous spam posts by that one new name. I got automatic "Thanks", but never a comment that it had already been reported (although I had received those in the past?). Those three nights I seemed to bump into them fairly soon after their initial posting, usually within a half hour . In one case, I stumbled onto the initial posting three minutes after it had been made. Their moderators were on top of things that night (I had reported a previous "new poster" about a half hour earlier!), about five minutes later the new "new" poster was gone.
I have in the past reported spam postings here as well.
All that rambling, just to reinforce other's comments to "report" these things! Click on that "exclamation mark"! Don't let me be one of only a very few! DO NOT add comments below their initial spam post! That adds credence to their record and encourages them to work harder at it! Simply, in the "thread listings", note the name of the miscreant. Whether they have left one post or dozens of them? Click into only one of them. Then click on the "report" icon, on this forum the " ! " in the upper right corner, next to the "quote" icon. (On the AACA forum the "report" icon is hidden under three dots, also in the upper right hand corner.)
Add any details like more postings and maybe where and a friendly "thank you" to the moderators in the comments box. Then back out and go on about your business.
Whatever else you do? DO NOT click into anything further in the spammer's posting! ANYTHING they post in there might be dangerous! Once reported, just back out and move on.

Thank you, Chris, for taking care of it.
We had some things on the EFR forum a while back. They would get removed and come back later in the day.

Apply Irgolic, let dry, then sand to a smooth finish.
