'26 body paint colors

Looking for Dupont paint code equivalent for Ditzler 546 Channel Green. This would be for acrylic enamel paint.

Since no paint chips exist for Model T colors, using best judgement is the thing.

Here is an older thread giving a lot of info on Channel Green.

Richard: Here's a snippet of a past post, fyi, jb
By Jon Allen on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 - 06:28 pm:
John,
I don't know why people keep asking where can I get an antique color matched in modern paint.
I have put this on here several times before:

http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/

They can match ANY auto (or carriage!) color you want in modern paint.
My advice: DON'T buy it from them. Buy a color "chip" with the color painted on it.
Once you have that, take it to a local auto paint store, and have them scan it into a computer. Then they can mix it for you.
Regards,
Jon

I am beginning to realize my ignorance on the subject. Thank you both for input and speedy response. Actually, the color I wish to use is whatever the match is for the body of the 1920 Canadian Export 1920 T Pickup on the cover of issue no. 443 of the Model T Times.

It was described in the article as Australian Olive Green. I was told that it was Ditzler paint code 546, aka, Channel Green. After looking at the online paint swatch for that color, I don't believe it's a match at all.

So, if anyone knows the owner's of the Pickup, Ralph and Lynn Boyer, of Dearborn Heights, MI, and can persuade a paint code from them, that would be marvelous. Failing that, a good Dupont color guess would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

This is the best source I know. https://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/P-R.htm#paint1

Since it is a T, black always works.

Here is what I did for My 1927 back in 2009 to match the Channel Green.

These Codes will mean something to the paint folks:

AL-TCP IM052(B)
IM-052 Deep Channel
1952 Lincoln
Code# 11A
VOC 4.87 lbs, MSDS: ALVOC 4.87 lbs, MSDS: ALVOC 4.87 lbs
Tri City Paint Corporation.

It is a very beautiful dark color green which when in the garage almost looks black. However, in the sunshine its revels it true color.

Richard, unless I have mis-read your posts, you are looking to "match" a color which appeals to you, based on a photograph which appeared on the cover of the club publication. If you have not seen the Boyer's pickup "in real life" I can almost guarantee it is not the color you think it is. You would be better paid to consult a catalog of paint chips, and choose a shade that meets your expectations, this with the caveat that because of their size and "captive" environment, paint chips generally appear very different when the color is applied to the broad expanses of an automobile body outdoors in sun or shade.
Good luck, and I hope you find what you are looking for.
