MTFCI TOUR IN BARABOO, WI

Linda and I completed 420 trouble free miles in the 25 Coupe with the MTFCI National tour from Devils Head Resort in the Merrimac Baraboo WI area. Winding scenic roads and steep hills put the 200 plus cars to the test. What a sight to see on the golf course at the resort. I don't like golf but was awestruck at all the beautiful T eye candy there was to see in one place on the fairway during the car show Monday morning. Beautiful weather and a memorable week.

Lots of beautiful cars to enjoy. Ford didn't paint any T's yellow, but perhaps he should have.

On the way to Dalton on Wednesday we passed this-
IMG_1834.JPG
It was not some kind of demonstration, it was a group of Amish farmers threshing a wheat field. It was a sight I thought I would never see. After lunch we stopped at a buggy shop/farm implement dealer and talked with the gentleman there. He was working on a single seat buggy with fiberglass wheels. I asked if this was the only threshing machine in the area and he replied that it was so much of a pain to move that each little neighborhood had their own and that the threshing season was just starting.

Is the early coupe a restoration or a recreation? Looks fantastic.

A restoration. He was entered into the Stynoski judging but a carburetor problem prevented him from being able to drive the car. Driving the car is a requirement for eligibility. So perhaps next year?......

Also, here is some drone footage on Facebook from the tour stop at Pleasant View Bakery in Amish country. The drone-ographer just happened to be in the area.

I will let you decide on which it is. The body was built by Ray Wells, who built the bodies for Craig Beek and Jim Finney using Jim's body for a pattern.

This was my first tour. I have been a member since 2007 I think, but this tour was in my backyard so how can you not go. I went to the annual meeting when it was in Dearborn and the tours were the best I have ever been on in my life, totally awesome. I must say I think this experience rivals the Dearborn Tours. The planning and effort was just awesome. I’m ready for Cadillac. I had a blast, you exceed expectations.
