Interesting Speedster Lowering Brackets
I was at a junk yard recently and couldn't make out what was going on with this model T at first. It had a strange cowl, lowered steering column angle, and something odd going on with the front and rear springs, then it hit me, a period speedster. Very interesting lowering brackets. He said he had a buyer at $1k, I told him to take the money and run, then I saw the lowering brackets and when I went crazy over it he thought he better ask more for it now. I need to work on my poker face. No I didnt buy it.

You are fortunate to be able to find old cars in junkyards where you live. Here in New England junk yards are full of 25 yr old stuff. The old cars are mostly long gone.
I enjoy seeing pictures of junk yards from the mid west and the vast variety of old stuff.
I'd like to have those brackets too!
Happy part hunting!

Re: Interesting Speedster Lowering Brackets
That is a set of Faultless lowering brackets. The front brackets puts the axle ahead of the front leaf spring. The rear brackets move the spring ahead of the rear axle and have longer shackles to get the "drop". To attach the rear spring to the frame, Faultless provided an extra arched cross member that would be bolted to the frame ahead of the existing one.

The cowl and windshield appear to be Faultless too. No sign of the rest of the body.

Re: Interesting Speedster Lowering Brackets
I wish I was the person who offered the guy $1000 for it... there are enough parts there to make a heck of a car, plus you don' kow what else was done to it.... but those brackets... Man, if I were anywhere close to that I would snap that up in a hot Italian heartbeat!

Re: Interesting Speedster Lowering Brackets
I don't think that $1k was a serious offer. I texted with Todd yesterday and as far as I know it is still for sale.
