Another Business Lost

Post by Ken Buhler » Tue Aug 01, 2023 2:02 pm

YRC Freight has closed its doors. I was about to have two pallet loads of parts sent from a shipper in Traverse City Michigan and just now I was told they are out of business after so many decades with a great reputation. Unfortunately, this will have a considerable downstream effect.

Look at the bright side...one less company to have to invest in a fleet of electric trucks. Imagine all those savings!

I don't know about Canada, but I have confidence that my government will fix everything. Why worry when the Government is on my side taking care of me? I know they are, because they tell us this constantly, and anyone who is willing to protect me down to the minutia of stoves and water heaters must have my best interests at heart.

We'll soon be free of the planet-destroying horrors of hot and cold running water, indoor toilets, sugary cola, and HVAC. Obsolete and destructive concepts of "Consumerism" and "ownership" will be abolished, along with the selfish and discriminatory fallacy of "Individualism" with all its toxic emanations.

Some inconvenience may result, but any such will surely be but a trifling cost to save the planet while assuring full Equity for all.

Once the Great Reset is complete, every day will be an average day, and each persyn's needs will be fully met, according to the formulae set down by Experts.

Homelessness and other social pathologies with wither away, and each persyn will be assigned a fully adequate nest/cubicle, which will provide workspace, environmentally-responsible hygiene facilities, and livingspace. Thus, all persyns will experience full equity with full fairness in the new, borderless Global Society.

*Each cubicle will feature a telescreen for instruction, wellness monitoring, and wholesome entertainment, all provided within a 2.3 square metre livingspace unit. All effluents and waste streams will be fully recycled and all demands upon the planetary ecosystems will eliminated.

I'm glad they went out with only $750,000.00 of US taxpayer's money and we did not give their crappy leadership any more corporate welfare at our expense.

Now we only have to worry about paying for the union's poorly run pension fund.

They should have gone out during covid and not been given the Narcan shot of money by the Trump Treasury.

And I don't really feel bad for the employees, they should have seen the writing on the wall when Yellow got the money and found other employment back when every other freight company was desperately hiring due to the employee shortage.
They also choose to give up control of their financial future to a union for upfront gains.
Everything works in theory.
Reality is how you determine if something works or not.

Read yesterday, YRC received $700M in COVID relief loans that they will now never repay.

Well The union was the fault of the problems from what I heard today, but of course you hear stuff from all over.
The only people that come out on top in regards to unions are the union boss's. The workers keep them paid well.
as for a cubicle for each person to be in? I am wondering if something like what the "Matrix" movie shows is more of what the government would like.We just hang somewhere with our brains connected and our bodies acting as batterys.

Perhaps COSCO will step in, collect a fat, sweetheart cash infusion from us.gov, and the trains will again run on time.

They were not only financially blind but also color blind since their TT delivery trucks would have been painted ORANGE
and not YELLOW!

Yep, we're going to hell in a handbasket and at break neck speed. Frankly I'm glad I'm on the "downhill slope"...I don't envy anyone under the age of 50 nowadays.
