Water neck
Is there a close substitute for a water neck (thermostat housing) that is common to another vehicle that I could make work on my model t?

No, there is not a close substitute, you will need a Ford water outlet, and a model T does not use a thermostat.

Hi Robert,
Are you looking for a elbow that is reccessed for a thermostat? Speedway Motors & other suppliers have a 45* swivel outlet for skinny block
chebies, I believe the bolt patern is the same (someone used a gasket from one on a T the other day.) It can be turned in any direction & locks
when tightened. I think you have to slip a short piece of hose on it to get the T hose to fit. I'm pretty sure some of the venders sell a thermostat
with a special gasket for that.

The thermostat sold by the dealers is made to between the water outlet and head.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

I needed one in a pinch one time and used one for a small block chevy. You have to oval out the bolt holes, but it works. Different years and models have different angles. I believe the one I used was for a 1955, so even that might be hard to find. I just checked my parts stash, it was a Four Seasons 84820. The angle was good, but the hose size was smaller so I had to use another piece of hose as a sleeve, and oval the bolt holes.

From sunny South Australia where we have California type climate, can I ask,"What is the need for a Thermostat'?' If it is to restrict the water flow to make the car run warmer,there were period accessories to blank off portions of the radiator, as seen in the latest of Tom Rootlieb's selection of photos.
