another supplier of pliers?
I picked up this pair to drain my compressor and just happened to notice the makers mark on one side and Ford on the other. I don't think I have seen a pair like these before. It looks like it says Herbrand, USA

Re: another supplier of pliers?
Those pliers are the reason for the high price of Model T screwdrivers. When they started putting that flat end on one of the pliers handles, they quit making the screwdrivers, which makes them scarce today. I believe all the kit tools were made by various manufacturers. Herbrand was one of them.
The inevitable often happens.

I have a pair of well used pliers but no markings like the ones pictured. The screwdriver end drawback is when you are getting down on a nut or something the sharper end of the pliers can bite into your hand!

John, I think that's why they make wrenches!
I always thought stories of folks using pliers to put on or take off nuts was a wives' tale

When you’re broke down in the pasture and that’s all you have in the tractors tool box you use what you have. But Ido use a crescent wrench sometimes!

But I do carry a crescent wrench and I’ll bet I’m not the first that used a pair of pliers with the screwdriver end and that bit his palm! And they were Model T owners back in the day that did too!

Re: another supplier of pliers?
John, in Australia there are so many unbranded sets of those pliers I think many of these may well have been T model issue. However, if it has a Ford script, it is hard to argue that they are not T model ones. We get English made ones too, but they are slightly different in handle shape, so are most likely from little English 8 and 10 HP cars.

Re: another supplier of pliers?
The Herbrand pliers are not common. I also disagree with Steve Jelf's comments.

Does this disagree with the disagreement?

Where did all the screw drivers go? Likely they found their way into the workshop to be used as a screwdriver, paint can opener, pry tool etc until the tips were gone, and then trash
