Looking close at the picture I’m not seeing any kind of fencing for a Rodeo other that the cars in a big circle! I’m wondering if it was a Rodeo or if they were just working a few cattle. Maybe branding the livestock or just dehorning them. Whatever they were doing the cattle would have put some dents or get cut up running into the cars.
