Greetings all.
Like the fool that I am, I did not take enough pictures of the car when I tore the original upholstery out of my 22 Touring barn find. Guess I was too busy chasing all the spiders and mice out of it to think about it. The front seat bottom edge was badly rusted, and I replaced all that sheet metal - The back seat also had some rust, and I made replacement parts for that frame - I have also replaced al the wood with new- and I bought one of the last upholstery kits from Cartouche, before they went out of business a while back. Unfortunately, their 3 page instructions are not clear about the location of the seat backs bottom tack strips. Their description is " pull the bottom vinyl edge down so that the bottom of the vinyl is about 1 inch below the bottom of the bottom wood tack strip and tack it at the chalk marks" ...
I don't have a local touring to model off of but I've watched all the Classtique Upholstery videos on Youtube, Truly great stuff, but they don't go into the location of the bottom tack strips. In addition, I've tried to find images on this site as well as the web - Some images show it at the very bottom while others show it a few inches higher.
so to the point:
Does anyone have photos of a touring front and back seat, with the bottom cushions off, showing how high up the bottom tack strips are?
Thanks Again for all your help and support!

Re: seat back bottom tack strip location?
Back seat. The tack pieces sit on the metal frame in the front seat as well

Some good pics in this thread:

If you can, drive the tacks through the welting, then through folded parts of the seat back material so that they grab more than just one layer of material. I'm not a big fan of having the seat back material overlap down onto the seat base, doesn't appeal to my sense of neatness.

Sorry for the late response- Thanks for the help - It's starting to look a bit more like a seat -
