I can see a pair of standard T manifolds and cylinder head on the V8. The other bank must be hanging out to the left somewhere!

You mean the car without fenders on the left in the last picture? The head is higher than on a flathead Ford V8 and the intake manifold would be on top between the heads. So I wonder what kind of engine is in that car?

Car Number 8 (IRE - Ireland) appears to have only 4 coil posts on the firewall for spark plugs

It's possible that the right crankcase ear broke off causing the engine to sag. This happens often. That side gets the most torque from both the engine and the brake. I have never seen a V8 with cylinders on that angle.
