Windshield glass help
24 Coupe I was hoping for some direction on how to remove the two windshields. One has cracks, one corner has several cracks covering an area of about 6 by 8 inches and that is supported by box tape. The other is scored badly from no wiper blade on the wiper. There are little clips on the sides. I see those and they come off but then what? I don't want to force anything and get my arm cut off.. Is the glass cemented into the frame? What's the process?

I have a 24/Coupe. I removed the windshield framework by removing the wood screws screws around the framework and carefully removing the framework. After the framework with the glass in it I put a large towel over it and used a hammer to breakout the majority of the glass.
I then used a screwdriver to dig out the remainder of the glass. Try to keep the glass channels in good shape when you digging the small pieces of glass.
The original wood screws are slightly oval and nickel plated. I know mine were and when removing them I used the correct size screwdriver so not to mess up the slots in them. Be sure to remove the imbedded dirt and paint in the slots too. That will help you to get the screwdriver deep enough in the slot to remove them successfully.

I brought my '26
Lower windshield to my glass guy. He removed the glass for me. I then took the frame home and cleaned it up, and painted it. I brought it back to him and I got a nice safety glass install for $175. I let the pro deal with the hazardous 97 yr old glass and I'm glad I did.

I second the motion to take the frames, with the glass still in them, to your local glass shop. They can safely remove the old glass and install modern laminated glass.
I have had the local shop swap out the glass in both my 1924 Model T and my 1912 Flanders and they did a great job for what I considered to be a very reasonable price.
