Cool pic.
The billboard atop the building parapet says "Certain Teed"...I wonder if that was any connection to today's CertainTeed company..we have a plant not 6 miles from me that makes shingles. Dad was a boiler operator there for years. Of course it's foreign owned company now...from France. St. Gobain I believe is the company name.

I see Certain Teed has been making shingles since 1904. I think it is indeed the same company. I worked for the Wisconsin Central Railroad and we shipped granules from 3M in Wausau to the plant you are talking about just off the turnpike at US 250. My Mom and Dad lived in Norwalk until 2005. I always got off at that exit.
