A friend of mine in mid-Michigan is selling a replica Snap-On truck complete with period Snap On tools. The box on the back has pull-out drawers which display the tools. It has been displayed at some big events in the region and well-received. It was originally my friend's brother's project but the brother died of covid before vaccines were available. It's on FB Marketplace in Clio, MI.

This picture of an early Snap-on Sales Reps Model T has been around for awhile. Back in 2008 I helped identify the year of this T for Jack Michaels, then President, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Snap - on. I wrote an article about this T and finding an early '23 Roadster to be used to re-create the T in the original picture. This article was in the March - April, 2009 issue of The Vintage Ford, Volume 44, number 2. The re-created Model T that looks almost exactly like the original T from the 1923 picture, is now in the Snap - on museum in their corporate headquarters building at their main office here in Kenosha, WI. This re-created Snap-on Model T has been taken to various trade shows that Snap-on is present at, and it was also taken to the Snap-on factory in Johnson City, TN when the MTFCI National Tour was held there back in about 2010 or 2011. I'll see if I can get some pictures of the re-created Snap-on T posted on this thread in the next day or two. Meanwhile, those of you that still have your copy of the March - April 2009 issue of The Vintage Ford can see the article and pictures there.

Not to far off topic but Blackhawk tools have been around a while too. Blackhawk made specific Ford tools. I’ve been looking for a Ford Blackhawk tool vehicle and hadn’t seen a picture of one yet. Maybe they weren’t a big enough at the time.

Had a nice chat last night with Keith about this cool truck. He sent me some more pics of it one of which is with Keitj and Jack Michael's. He said Jack is the tall one! Like 6'5" tall! I told Keitj that Jack needs a Torpedo!!

One of my first jobs while I was still in high school in the 1950's was for an auto garage. I got jobs like pulling off the head or things like that. However I got to observe the work being done by the experienced mechanics. The Snap on tool dealer came by every so often, maybe once a month or so. When mechanics bought new tools, they would trade in their used tools for a small discount. I would buy a complete set of sockets, and a ratchet and some handles and extensions as well as end wrenches. They would be many different brands but if they were the right size I bought them. I still have almost all the tools I bought. Complete set of mixed brands of tools. I also liked Craftsman tools from Sears. Our ACE Hardware carries Craftsman tools even though Sears is no longer around. I think they could have lasted today if they had gone online catalog and moved the cashiers by the doors instead of in different departments. More like Walmart or Home Depot are today.
