Early vs late rear end carrier?

Just curious I have 2 rear end carriers is one just a earlier version which is which?

The one with the studs is earlier. The late ones have bolts all the way through both sides.

The lip that the thrust washers ride in is really worn and undercut on both. The thrust washer would have been held in place with two pins. Looks like the pins sheared, allowing the steel thrust washers to cut into the flange.
Early or late, they both fit/work the same, only difference, the early needed a tie wire between the 3 studs and late bolt type used cotter pins.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:

The rear end above is just someone else's problem.
