Fuel line routing a clips?

Post by signsup » Mon Feb 05, 2024 12:07 pm

Don't know if the current set up is OE or Bubba, but it looks sketchy to me. Current fuel line runds straight back from Holly NH carb awfully close to the exhaust pipe and then bends 90 degrees or so and under the round fuel tank to the sediment bowl. Don't know if line should go over or under exhaust pipe and current set up has absolutely no clips or attachment points between carb and tank, so some wobble.
Are these pics the correct routing? And, if so are there some missing items to make this routing a little more "safe"? If not a fire hazard, I would think vapor lock might be an issue.

I'll hang up and listen.

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

A bunch of old cars
Sometimes they run.
Sometimes, they don't.

That routing of the fuel line is correct for 1924 and later, as the fuel line ran between the frame and motor, earlier routing was behind a cutout in the wood engine mounting block. Note the frame clamp as the photos posted show.
